These lovely small 24 seed malas are imported from India. The lotus seeds are a rich, dark chocolate brown color, and are said to have a cooling effect. They are closely strung on red cord with a small red tassle after the Guru bead.
Lotus seeds are the seeds of plants in the genus Nelumbo, particularly the species Nelumbo nucifera. In India they are often carried in-hand by sadhus mentally reciting or chanting their mantras.
The lotus seed symbolizes spiritual knowledge and power and are said to have the following properties:
