Swami Vivekananda was the chief disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. He is considered a key figure in the introduction of Hindu philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga in Europe and America and is also credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a world religion during the end of the 19th century. Vivekananda is perhaps best known for his inspiring speech beginning with "Sisters and Brothers of America", through which he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the World's Religions at Chicago in 1893.
Swami Vivekananda also established the Vedanta societies in America and England. In 1897 he founded the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, a philanthropic and spiritual organization.
These comics are endearing to the young and old. Reading them is an inspiring and fun way to learn about India's saints and sages - and it's a lot easier than studying the Vedas! Comics are also a great way for children to learn, which is why they are an integral part of most Indian households. These incredible tales from the scriptures make Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne seem tame! These are the DC Comics for the ages.
We carry Amar Chitra Katha comics as they have the most consistent quality. We import all of our comics direct from India. The quality is generally good, but please make allowance for the fact that they are printed economically in India.
