Description

It is not commonly known that Lahiri Mahasaya wrote twenty six diaries consisting of his commentaries on the twenty six classical Indian scriptures, all with respect to Kriya Yoga. He gave these diaries to his chief disciple Panchanon Bhattacharya to publish. Hence, in 1888 these remarkable commentaries were published in Bengali, Lahiri Mahasaya's native language. Later, these diaries were kept by Lahiri Mahasaya's grandson, Sri Satya Charan Lahiri.

In 1983 Swami Satyeswarananda Giri published Lahiri Mahasaya's diaries in English for the first time, and reorganized them into four logical volumes. We offer all four volumes separately, or as a complete set (with free worldwide shipping.)

These commentaries constitute a vast and priceless collection of work.

This complete set of all 4 volumes is offered at a 15% discount plus free Worldwide shipping.

In Autobiography of a Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda said, "The master [Lahiri Mahasaya] now permitted his disciple, Panchanon Bhattacharya, to open an "Arya Mission Institute" in Calcutta. Here the saintly disciple spread the message of Kriya Yoga and prepared for the public benefit certain yogic herbal medicines" The Arya Mission Institute undertook the publication of many of the guru's scriptural commentaries.
Like Jesus and other great prophets, Lahiri Mahasaya himself wrote no books, but his penetrating interpretations were recorded and arranged by various disciples. Some of these voluntary amanuenses were more discerning than others in correctly conveying the profound insight of the guru; yet, on the whole, their efforts were successful. Through their zeal, the world possesses unparalleled commentaries by Lahiri Mahasaya on twenty six ancient scriptures.
Just as Babaji is among the greatest of avatars, a Mahavatar, and as Sri Yukteswar may justly be called a Jnanavatar or Incarnation of Wisdom, so Lahiri Mahasaya was a Yogavatar or Incarnation of Yoga. By the standards of both qualitative and quantitative good, he elevated the spiritual level of society.
In his power to raise his close disciples to Christlike stature and in his wide dissemination of truth among the masses, Lahiri Mahasaya ranks among the saviors of mankind. His uniqueness as a prophet lies in his practical stress on a definite method, Kriya, opening for the first time the doors of yoga freedom to all men. Apart from the miracles of his own life, surely the Yogavatar reached the zenith of all wonders in reducing the ancient complexities of yoga to an effective simplicity not beyond the ordinary grasp"Lahiri Mahasaya brought to light, clear of allegories, the science of religion that had been cleverly put out of sight in a riddle of scriptural imagery. No longer an unintelligible jugglery of words, the formulas of Vedic worship have been proved by the master to be full of scientific significance".

Thank you for this collection of books!! August 22, 2010

I've just barely started Vol. I and skimmed over the other volumes but I can tell that these are phenomenal books.   Lahiri Mahasaya's commentary on the Gita is in light of Kriya Yoga, which once again makes me very thankful to Master for bringing this liberating technique to the West.
