This attractive
Sandalwood and
Carnelian mala, which we hand-make, consists of the traditional count of 108 beads, divided into groups of twelve by contrasting, faceted carnelian gemstones, chosen for their beauty and specific vibratory qualities (see below). Our sandalwood beads come direct from India and are selected for their quality, aroma and uniform size. You
will notice that we don't use a silk tassel at the end, which tends to get worn
and raggedy, but prefer to use a "Guru" gemstone bead as is the custom in
India. These not only look better, but will last forever.
We make all our malas ourselves to ensure quality and
that they start out with a peaceful vibration, not that of a restless factory. A subtle yet conducive energy can be felt when wearing or meditating
with these malas. Each one is not only a work of art, it is made to wear and
use daily. Wear it comfortably to meditation, the yoga
studio, to the opera, - anywhere you want to look and feel good!
On this mala, the carnelian beads not only look different but
feel different, which allows the meditator to concentrate on meditating and not
counting. After using these malas, you will
never go back to counting on your fingers!

In India, sandalwood beads are often worn for purification, for protection, and for uplifting the mind, body, and spirit.

Carnelian is a grounding stone. It is excellent for restoring vitality and motivation and stimulates creativity. It improves analytic abilities and clarifies perception. It is a powerful protector against envy, rage, and resentment (yours and other people's!)
