Sandalwood has been used for thousands of years in India where it is considered sacred and highly auspicious and hence is used for many rituals and religious ceremonies. Our plain sandalwood malas are made from 108 uniformly shaped high quality sandalwood beads and are wonderfully scented. They are finished with a quality ocher tassel after the Guru Bead and are imported from India.
Sandalwood is much-prized and has been used as a component in religious rituals and ceremonies for thousands of years. Sandalwood is especially sacred to Shiva and to Ganesha, the Lord of success and the remover of obstacles. Sandalwood is said to aid in relaxation and to reduce mental restlessness. In India they are often worn for purification, for protection, and for uplifting the mind, body, and spirit.
