Café Tureygua Whole Bean Coffee is some of the finest organic Puerto Rican coffee available. Hand picked and sun dried, Café Tureygua Single Origin beans are grown on a boutique coffee farm owned and operated by our two friends, Elena Biamón and Miguel Sastre. This is Caribbean coffee at its best. The beans are roasted to a dark medium roast to produce a distinctive but mild flavor like Organic Kona or Jamaican Blue Mountain.
Elena Biamón and Miguel Sastre spent several years of toil to realize
their dream of creating one of the most ecological coffee farms in
Puerto Rico. That ended a long search for us to find coffee that is fresh, has excellent flavor and is grown not only organically, but in harmony with the environment in every way.
Elena and Miguel's farm is situated in the heart of Puerto Rico on sacred Taíno Indian land. In the Taíno language Tureygua means Celestial - a fitting name for a heavenly coffee! With views overlooking Cerro Punta, the highest peak in the Island, their farm occupies an idyllic setting. This would be the place to have a work retreat!
Note:Although grown to organic standards (and beyond), organic certification will take another year and half as apparently it involves several tons of paperwork and lots of patience!
Because this is a true boutique coffee farm and the coffee is picked in season and shipped fresh, it will not be available all year round. Sorry about that.
