Rob Jacobs, retired commercial artist and longtime Hollywood Temple member, has perfected a unique and totally new creative technique to produce a stunning collection of cards known as Angels of Protection.
When Rob began creating Angels of Protection, other than an intuitive feeling that he had to make them, he was not personally aware of the major meaning behind this series. However, since their inception Rob has experienced some of the most joyous moments of his life when he has been able to share these images with others. In all there are 16 cards in the series and Rob personally draws the gold leaf border on each card and individually signs every one. They are truly pieces of art that look very good framed, which many people do after receiving them from a friend or loved one.
We offer here all sixteen of Rob's Angels of Protection note cards. Each one is hand-crafted on off-white art paper with a matching envelope. They are blank on the inside making them perfect to send for every occasion and good wish.
Card size: 5 X 7 inches
Biography:Rob Jacobs was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Los Angeles from the age of five with his father Harry, mother Grace, and his brother Ray. Much of his life has been centered around the areas of music, art, health, meditation and the study of Eastern thought and philosophy.
His work in the field of commercial art was in his own business as a photo retoucher to the advertising and entertainment industries. During the last twenty years of his retouching business, he was located across from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Rob's dream however, was to produce his own images, and this was achieved in 1990. Since then he has produced six series of art, including: The Warriors, The West, The Western Haiku, The Starbucks Haikus and Angels of Protection, some of which you can see on Rob's web site: angelsofprotection.
His work is mixed media, including the use of photographic dyes, paints, sand, glitter, airbrush, gels, and other materials. It is built from the palettes he created from his days as a retoucher.
Rob lives in the Los Angeles area and has two sons, Seth and Ethan.
